My family engagement party was held at Seafood Village. Most people don't know this, but they have several private rooms varying in size on the side and in the back of the restaurant. After having dim sum at the restaurant one day, we asked the manager to give us a brief tour of a of the rooms so we could decide if this location would be suitable for a party of 22 adult and 2 kids. Some of the rooms located side by side could be enlarged by opening a connecting door.

Once we decided to book one of the rooms, the manager provided us with a dinner menu and we selected 2 sets of 10 dishes served family style (lobster, fish, walnut shrimp, etc). I don't know if they could do this for everybody, but they were gracious enough to allow us to bring in our own champagne and wine because my family can be quite picky with their alcoholic beverages. We placed a deposit after discussing our preferences. We were also allowed to bring in some flowers to decorate the tables.

On the day of the engagement party, the staff were excellent. Upon arrival, the staff all knew about the small engagement party and ushered all my family members into the private room. My family showed up in 4-5 different groups as we were coming from different areas.  Once everybody was seated, the first course was immediately served.

My family was very impressed by how smooth the entire night was in terms of service and food. Everything tasted amazing - but my favorite is always the house lobster. We appreciated that the manager and staff had executed all of our requests without any hesitation or drama. They even set up a small table for us to store all our alcohol. There were zero surprises.

If you are looking to have a private event here, I strongly recommend these folks. Delicious food with excellent service!

Okay I'm gonna leave a review here even though it's clear no one who runs these Chinese restaurants ever listens to or even reads them.

    The GOOD:
    - Delicious food (which is why I gave two stars instead of one)
    - If you go before 10am on any day, weekday or weekend, it's a comfy place to enjoy yourself during a meal.
    - Once you order, the food all comes within the next 5-10min served likely by the people who prepares it in the kitchen.

    The BAD:
    - They never have certain drinks like iced tea or Diet Coke. What the hell?
    - Most of the staff speak horrible English
    - It takes forever to get your drink if you order one.
    - They will try to charge you for hot tea and mustard and you have to MAKE SURE you let them know not to charge you for it.
    - Once you make an order you have to make sure you will not have to wave anyone over cuz they will avoid you if you didn't make an order ahead of time.

It's ridiculous how closed minded the people are who run and work in these places. They're lucky that the Chinese population is so large and so reliable around here, they never have to worry about business no matter what they do. Also cuz they culturally understand their "ways". But they're running a restaurant in the USA. THEY HAVE TO ADAPT TO THE COUNTRY, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Lol I'm honestly in a bind cuz the dim sum is so good it's worth coming back here for, but if it wasn't, I'd never come here again and give the place one star.

Been here more than a couple of times with decent (never stellar, but fine) service and food as well. My family mostly keeps coming back to this place because they would give you a complimentary dish if you order $XXX amount of food and we enjoyed partaking in that. Today... we regretted that decision.

Let me start off by saying we were a 7 top here to celebrate a birthday. He's a vegetarian. We weren't making a big hoopla about that because we just wanted food in a relaxed environment; he also isn't one to soak in the limelight even if an event is for him.

Service started out fine, we ordered five dishes as well as a house special fried rice and told them we didn't want the shrimp or any meat product on there, but that egg was fine for the vegetarian in the party. We've had an issue here before with modding a chow mein so we were pretty specific with this order. Ordering seemed hassle free and the server walked away.

They brought out peanuts and pickled daikon without us asking! First time ever!  Usually, they just bring out peanuts or... nothing at all and we have to ask for them. Things were looking up and we were quite happy already.

Kung pao chicken (ok) and honey walnut shrimp (good) came out followed by fried rice... The God forsaken fried rice... apparently this cryptic fried rice was so difficult to make that no one in the restaurant could figure out how to make it or what to actually put in it because it came out with shrimp. We told them that he was vegetarian and doesn't eat meat. They apologized and went to refire the dish. No harm, no foul. Our birthday boy doesn't mind, he had a meal a little more than four hours ago and practices intermittent fasting, so it wasn't a big deal for him.

Satay bbq beef (BAD), french style beef (good), and Peking duck (good) come out with the enigmatic fried rice tailing the trio of dishes. The bday dude spoons around after I made a joking comment of them "picking out the shrimp and sending it out again." Of course, no restaurant would do that, right? Oh man was I wrong. We found two bits of shrimp. Ugh. You messed up on a dish and rather than refire the dish, you pick out the shrimps and send it back out? Sweet baby Buddha, sit me under a bodhi tree and enlighten me with patience and grace. We told them again that he doesn't eat meat; no sea, no land, no air, but eggs are ok. It's definitely been over forty minutes since we sat at this point and our bday dude has had peanuts and a Peking duck bun to eat, but he's still being a trooper.

After our canto beef turnip stew (ok) arrives, the ever elusive fried rice comes floating back out, this time with a ghostly, white hue. I realized they didn't add any egg. It was literally white rice with carrots and peas and some salt and pepper... Vishnu himself could not have destroyed this dish anymore than the chefs and waithelp have. We told the server and food runner once again the situation and the runner brazenly snapped back "I don't know what you want. You said no meat." with a lot of attitude in canto while the server just stood there. At this point bday bro was emaciated. Gone was the vivacious sparkle his eyes once contained. His youthful glow now a lackluster hue, having aged thirty years from waiting on this garbage fire plate of fried rice... not really, but he just wanted food, so he settled. We got our disappointing room temperature tongsui after and I then asked for the bill.

The fried rice was on there. $12. Jesus take the wheel cause I'm about to drive this car off a cliff. How do you mess up a dish three times and not comp or AT LEAST discount it? We'd been more than polite despite the fried rice debacle. My folks asked me if the fried rice was on there with the server right behind me and I sighed out a yes... If they didn't care then, they're not going to now. I didn't have any fight in me left, I was done, so I just paid and we left.

This place has treated us decently well in the past and so we've always come back. But after today's mishandled atrocity, we're done.

Decided to have a little bit of Dim Sum today. Walked right in and sat down at a table. Looked over the goodies and ordered 6 items. They came to the table in about 10 mins. The only thing about ordering all the stuff up front is it get cold while sitting on the table. The food was good. We didn't get the sticky rice or chicken feet this time as it would be just to much food.
You don't come for the service it's all about the food.
At 12:45 the place is packed

The food is terrible here when I was here a few weeks ago. What was worse was that this place was shut down by the Health Dept for vermin infestation and rodent droppings. Go here if you want high protein food with rodent droppings in it.
